Bridge ID FAQs

Bridge ID is a Single Sign-On (SSO tool that offers access to multiple Cox Automotive solutions with a single ID and password while enhancing account security with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

All NextGear Capital account users will get a Bridge ID.

You can:

  • Switch between participating solutions, update and maintain username, password, and account recovery information from one hub for all participating Cox Automotive solutions including Autotrader, Dealer.com, Dealertrack F & I, Dealertrack DMS, F&I Express, Cox Auto Ecommerce, Homenet Automotive, KBB ICO, nVision, vAuto, VinSolutions, and xtime.
  • Gain best-in-class, enterprise-level account security.

If you already have a Bridge ID you will need to attach NextGear Capital to your existing account.

Yes, current NextGear Capital account users have up to 14 days to sign up for a Bridge ID.

To set up a new Bridge ID, you will be asked to select a username and password in addition to providing a phone number and/or email address for MFA purposes.

In most cases, yes. However, please be advised that in this new system, your username may already be taken in which case you will need to select a new username.

You will now have access to the Cox Automotive Bridge Bar, which you can use to:

  • Switch between linked Cox Automotive solutions.
  • Perform account-level user maintenance.
  • Log out of all Cox Automotive solutions at the same time.

Use the self-service (Forgot username/ Forgot password) links to reset your username and/or
password through the contact information (email address and/or phone number) that was provided at
the time of account set up.

Links to these documents display at the bottom of the sign-in screens and you can view them at any time.

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is an extra step during login that provides an additional layer of security to protect your account data. MFA will send you an email or SMS to verify it is you accessing your account.

No, you must enroll in Multi-factor Authentication.

While we require at least one method for account recovery and MFA, we recommend setting up both phone and email address to better support the account recovery process.

You can make changes to your authentication settings by updating your Bridge ID account via My Settings.

  • Any time you use a new device
  • Every 90 days
  • Every time your browser cache is cleared.

You can add your SMS enabled phone number at time of registration or at any later time via My Settings.

You can update your Bridge ID account settings via My Settings.
